1. Information we collect

Account and order information. Our checkout requires an account. When you register, place an order, or request a quote, we collect your name, institution or company, email address, phone number, and billing and shipping addresses, together with the details of your orders and purchase-order documents you send us. Payment card details are processed by our payment provider (Shopify Payments) and are not stored on our systems.

Communications. When you contact us — through the contact form, the Ask an Expert feature, email, or phone — we keep the content of your message and any information you include, such as catalog numbers, quantities, or order numbers, so we can respond and keep a record of the request.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our platform provider (Shopify) automatically collect limited technical information, including your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and interactions with the Site, using cookies and similar technologies (see Section 4).

Newsletter. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address for that purpose. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any newsletter email.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • process, fulfill, and deliver your orders, and to provide invoices, quotes, and order updates;
  • create and manage your account, including purchase-order and Net 30 credit applications for approved institutional accounts;
  • respond to inquiries, quotation requests, and technical or product-support questions;
  • send service messages about your orders or account;
  • send newsletters and product information, only where you have subscribed or where permitted, and always with an unsubscribe option;
  • operate, secure, and improve the Site, including understanding which products and pages are most useful to our customers;
  • prevent fraud and misuse, and comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run our business:

  • Service providers. Shopify hosts our store and processes payments; shipping carriers receive the name and address needed to deliver your order. These providers may use the information only to perform their services.
  • Your institution. Where an order is placed under an institutional account or purchase order, order details may be visible to your institution's purchasing or accounts staff as part of normal processing.
  • Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect our rights, customers, or property.
  • Business transfers. If our business is sold or reorganized, relevant information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

4. Cookies

The Site uses cookies that are essential for the store to work — for example, to keep items in your cart, sign you in, and complete checkout — and, where enabled, cookies that help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the Site, including checkout, from working properly.

5. Data retention

We keep account and order information for as long as your account is active and as needed afterwards for tax, accounting, warranty-of-record, and legal purposes. Communications are kept as long as reasonably needed to manage our relationship with you and your institution. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures, provided in part by our platform and payment providers, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your choices and rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you may object to or ask us to limit certain uses of it, subject to records we must keep by law. To make a request, contact info@humimmu.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. You can also update most account information by signing in to your account, and opt out of marketing email at any time.

8. Who the Site is for

Our products are research-use-only products sold to professional and institutional customers. The Site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Third-party links

The Site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version will be posted on this page, and material changes will apply from the date posted.
