Description:
Tixentamig is a immunoglobulin bispecific antibody that targets CD3E and CLDN18. CD3E encoded by this gene is the CD3-epsilon polypeptide, which together with CD3-gamma, -delta and -zeta, and the T-cell receptor alpha/beta and gamma/delta heterodimers, forms the T-cell receptor-CD3 complex. This complex plays an important role in coupling antigen recognition to several intracellular signal-transduction pathways.
Claudin 18 (CLDN18) belongs to the large claudin family of proteins, which are tetraspan transmembrane proteins of tight junctions. CLDN18 is specifically expressed in the stomach and lung. CLDN18 has two alternatively spliced variants, CLDN18.1 and CLDN18.2. CLDN18.2 is a highly selective gastric lineage marker that determines the gastric phenotype in a neoplastic condition, whereas CLDN18.1 is lung specific.
