Description: In late 2013, China first discovered cases of H10N8 subtype avian influenza virus infection and death in humans. Prior to this, there were no reports of H10N8 subtype viruses being able to infect human, and no cases of H10N8 subtype infections in human have been detected in other countries. Similar to the H7N9 subtype avian influenza virus, H10N8 has weak pathogenicity in poultry but can exhibit strong pathogenicity once it infects humans. Monoclonal antibodies with HI activity can provide accurate analysis of antigen variation in the virus.
