Ibramvibart is a IgG1 kappa monoclonal antibody that targets SARS-CoV-2 S. The novel coronavirus family (SARS-CoV-2) is the pathogen that causes COVID-19. The virus belongs to Group B coronaviruses, whose nucleic acid is negative stranded RNA, which is the largest RNA virus in the genome. The virus has caused a large number of infections and deaths since its outbreak in Wuhan, China, in late December 2019. Spike protein S is the main glycoprotein on the surface of virus, which is responsible for binding with host cells and infecting cells. This protein can be divided into S1 and S2, S1 is responsible for receptor binding, S2 is responsible for membrane fusion. Specific monoclonal antibody against novel coronavirus S2 can be used as an important tool for conserved antigen analysis, rapid diagnosis and scientific research, and broad-spectrum antibodies with neutralizing activity have downstream medicine development potential.
