Description: B-cell activating factor BAFF (also known as TNFSF13B, CD257) is a key B-cell survival factor and a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family. BAFF exists in two forms: soluble form and membrane-bound form. BAFF is expressed on various cell types including monocytes, dendritic cells and bone marrow stromal cells. BAFF has three receptors: TNFRSF13B / TACI (transmembrane activator and calcium modulator and cyclophilin ligand interactor), TNFRSF17 / BCMA (B-cell maturation antigen) and TNFRSF13C / BAFFR (B-cell activating factor receptor).BAFF plays a key role in supporting the survival and proliferation of B cells, regulating class switching recombination and selecting autoimmune B cells by binding to its receptors.In addition, it has been found that BAFF can also promote the activation, proliferation and differentiation of T cells.
