Lecankitug is a IgG1 kappa monoclonal antibody that targets IL17A and IL17F. The IL-17A protein is a homodimeric cytokine that plays a critical role in host defense mechanisms against numerous bacterial and fungal pathogens, as well as in allergic and autoimmune responses. IL-17F is an inflammatory homodimeric cytokine that induces the production of many pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines. IL-17F also stimulates the release of antimicrobial peptides. It exhibits a protective role in the development of colorectal cancer and holds potential for research applications in autoimmune diseases, infections, and cancer.
